The outside world seems to be saturated in harsh, hostile vibes lately. And I don’t think it’s an exaggeration to suggest that the looming U.S. election is not going to help to take the edge of this already 0% chill atmosphere.

So, what can we do to find sweet, sweet relief without numbing out with a box of Franzia wine or a handful of benzos?

Well, we can turn to mother nature’s metaphorical Xanax.

Proof point: when you put your hands into soil or compost you come in contact with a benign soil bacterium (mycobacterium vaccae), it actually triggers the release of the positive neurotransmitter serotonin in your brain.

Think about that for a second. Literally touching dirt functions, at a molecular level, as a chemical antidepressant.

Now, add in the vitality-stimulating energy of photosynthesis, the anti-inflammatory terpenes of resinous plants, and the actual alchemical magic of flowers, barks, stems and roots, and you’ve basically got peak mental health “medicine”— all in a bottle of benign, everyday flower essence!

[Those quotes around “medicine”, above, are specifically for anyone from the FDA reading this, hoping to catch me slipping in my old age. Joke’s on you guys. My mind’s sharp…because I use nature’s “medicine”. LOL.]
