All About Flower Essences: Fairy Dust and Day Dreams

New TOTEM Flower Essences designed to bring back a little *light* magic

I don’t know about all of you, but life has been feeling super dense and heavy lately. Adding to this is the strange sensation that time is, well, speeding up— and the overall effect is akin to getting compressed in some strange Woo version of the trash compacter in Star Wars.

For the last several weeks, my days have seemed to slip away despite waking up early to tackle to do’s and putting systems in place to ensure efficiency. It seems like there’s an endless barrage of metaphorical barbarians— in the form of urgent work fire drills and unforeseen implosions— getting through the castle walls on an hourly basis.

Claustrophobic. Suffocating. Exhausting.

In parallel to this unfolding energetic shit show, my cravings for negative space, silence, and unstructured time feel less like “nice to haves” and a hell of a lot more like “need to haves”. I find myself pining for the Before Times, when we could spend an afternoon lost in thought, daydreaming or connecting with Mother Nature in her slow, grounding rhythms.

Thankfully, I have just made some *NEW* magical potions to help us out of this energetic bog and into the airy fairy land of day dreams and stopping to smell the roses— all in the form of two TOTEM Flower Essences: Day Dream and Fairy Dust.

Day Dream

I first encountered the beautiful, soft pink petals of peony poppies in a lovely astral adventure during one night’s sleep this past winter.

In this vignette, my room was filled to the brim with huge, flowery pompoms in the shades of blush, pink, and soft white— and I felt a surge of childlike wonder, joy and enthusiasm for the day ahead.

When I woke up, recognizing that my nighttime travel was no ordinary dream and was, instead, an astral travel with a strong, flower-based message, I opened my laptop while sipping my morning coffee to try to find a name for the beautiful flowers I had just seen, smelled and enjoy.

Turns out, they’re called peony poppies. And they’re awesome.

I ordered some organic seeds and germinated them in our garage, under grow lights, during the winter, planning to plant them outside when they were well-rooted and not in danger of a hard frost or freeze. And I got lucky: these sweet, fluffy poppies have been popping off all spring in our garden, supplying me with more than enough soft, pink petals for use in making this new TOTEM Flower Essence.
