Staying sane in the Wood Snake Year: Make it a GREAT morning

Nicole Foos joins us to explore the critical importance of a morning meditation routine

As we’ve written about HERE, HERE and HERE, this Wood Snake Year is certainly living up to its promise— and we’re all feeling the effects just a few short months in!

So, I decided it was high time to tap the incredible community of clients, collaborators and friends around our work here at TOTEM and The Skeptical Shaman podcast to bring all of us short, snackable, and human-scaled tips and tricks to stay sane in this Wood Snake Year!

In this video, I chat with the talented and *very lovely*

of NVision and chat about her incredible jewelry, sculpture, and much, much more. In this discussion, Nicole shares her long and inspiring journey TO creativity (and creating awesome stuff), as well as her simple, daily trick to make it a good morning— and, as a result, a better and more creative day.

The long and the short of it? Spending just a few minutes of quiet contemplation in your morning BEFORE grabbing your phone, checking your email, or GOD FORBID looking at social media or the news can completely transform the rest of your day— and open up new fonts of creative and spiritual inspiration. Pull a few tarot cards. Take note of the cycle of the moon. Check in with your body and the elements that comprise it.

Sounds simple, I know. But, as we’ve been exploring in this Surviving the Wood Snake series, simplicity can be very powerful.
