Working with TOTEM Animals: Horse
A wild, intergalactic ride with an eight-legged, mythical horse!
As I’ve written about many times here on Substack, horses are one of two primary TOTEM animals that represent lost soul parts in shamanism: the bits of ourselves that get damaged, cleave off, or go dormant as a result of various traumas.
This is such a consistent theme within shamanism and my own shamanic practice— and work with clients— that, when I was initially visited by a small, white horse in a recent dream, I just assumed it was another soul part ready to be recollected and integrated back into my energy body.
Spoiler alert: it wasn’t, and this realization has led to one of the most intriguing spiritual scavenger hunts of my life, taking me on a cosmic ride courtesy of Odin’s eight-legged horse, exploring alternate meanings for the Runes, and even considering the Kabbalistic concept of soul chariots!
