Holy Moses, Holly. I think you just solved the mystery of Lupercalia. Might it be global wolf mating season? And perhaps, specifically, in Ancient Rome before the earth warmed fully after the Ice Age? Hmmmm...
Wolf showed up as my power animal just before I left the cults…and I did not know about this holiday!!! I’m stoked! And Rome, to my surprise, was my favorite city in Italy. Looks like I’ll be making a feast for me and Hero to celebrate :)
My good friend worked here in San Diego mountains at the California Wolf Center, actually in 1980s my professor in Psychology was one of the key experts at the center. The Center has long history of placing the wolves back in the wild. I have always been fascinated with the stories of wolves and how they are both independent and yet protective of their community. Client just sent me this-- the plot thickens: https://x.com/SkyNews/status/1755995154475807182?s=20
It would certainly make sense. Seasonal and biological cycles may only vary by a few weeks globally.
We have two wonderful packs in the Boundary Water Wilderness and Superior Forrest around Ely.
This is the time of year the wolves mate. so love is in the air. Happy Lupercalia indeed. PS love Gus, your wolf in dogs clothing.

Love this!
Was obsessed with wolves as a kid. "Never Cry Wolf" was literally my favorite movie lol
Wolves and women: an ancient collaboration;)
the valentine's tasting menu at Barley Swine is a positive, but swapping everything else out for Lupercalia sounds pretty good!
There's always an exception that proves the rule!
Why else would I have a wolf in my bio 🐺
Big wolf fan/lover here 💙🐺
Real recognizes real, Joyce!
