It takes two to tango: exploring the mystical convergence of the two's of the TOTEM Tarot Deck

So many of my recent client sessions have hinged on the theme of two: lots of the “two” tarot cards showing up in TOTEM Tarot Readings, a thematic focus on relationships, partnerships, interaction, symbiosis and synergy, all culminating in a pronounced intersection between the worlds of matter and spirit.

What does that mean in more human-scaled language? Well, simply put: spiritual growth and personal development is really all about relationships, which are embodied in the “two’s” of the tarot deck. When we dialogue, collaborate, interact and partner with others, we change— overwhelmingly for the better.

As referenced in our recent Scorpio Full Moon + Lunar Eclipse Deep Dive, An Old Soul, here on Substack, it seems that many of us “old souls” are getting activated, upgraded, and maybe even reconfigured to better align with our soul’s purpose. It seems that soul-level energy is penetrating our reality, engaging and changing many of us— right down to the cellular level.

This is the realm of the “two’s” in tarot cards: the alchemy between human beings and spirit. The two’s of the tarot deck explore this question: what happens when the material plane converges with the realm of woo?

The answer? Magic.

The two’s are the tarot suit of partnership: between individuals and the world of spirit (including spirit guides and totem animals); between each other in the form of friendship and love and business collaborations; between the world of spirit and our physical bodies, resulting in epigenetic healing and transformation; and between our minds and what Plato called the “world of ideas”, generating new innovations, inventions, and channeled wisdom for the benefit of humankind.

While the aces of the tarot deck are about the seed of something wonderful, the two’s are where these seeds take root and take form.

The two’s embody the alchemy of spirit unfolding in reality.
