Staying Sane in the Wood Snake Year: Just say "no" to toxic positivity- and keep laughing!

Recent guest of The Skeptical Shaman podcast, Lisa Amato, joins me to dig into it all!

As we’ve written about HERE, HERE and HERE, this Wood Snake Year is certainly living up to its promise— and we’re all feeling the effects just a few short months in!

So, I decided it was high time to tap the incredible community of clients, collaborators and friends around our work here at TOTEM and The Skeptical Shaman podcast to bring all of us short, snackable, and human-scaled tips and tricks to stay sane in this Wood Snake Year!

In this video, I chat with the amazing Lisa Amato…and we’re going to MENTION IT ALL:

Lisa and I chat about the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly of it all in an effort to get a handle on WHY THE WOOD SNAKE YEAR IS SO CHALLENGING! Sure, it hasn’t all been bad, and there’s plenty of human kindness and moments of beauty and meaning and all of that, but DAMN Wood Snake— when you slap, you slap hard!

So, what’s to be done? How can we feel and process and integrate our feelings alongside the sudden conflagrations of this year’s combination of the wood and fire elements? How do we not carry the heaviness and exhaustion to our client sessions and interactions with other, non-offending humans more generally? How can we in the Business of Woo stay on our proverbial paddle board without packing it up and getting a job at our local Walmart?

In this longer-than-usual video chat, we explore tips, tricks and more to help take the edge off of in this combustive, nervous system-eroding VIBE— hope they bring a smile to your day. If nothing else, we laughed…and talked about the existential beauty of the TV show COPS!
